A Weeks Worth Of Chaos!!!

WHEEEWWW......it has been a crazy week around here ya'll!  We had Young Picasso's on Monday night, Open Studio on Tuesday night, Thursday morning was a field trip of 40 fifth graders...(say that 5 times fast) Thursday night was a palette knife class, Friday night was a landscape class, and Saturday night was a pop art your pet private party.

Then there was the 15 plus miles that I did and oh ya.... a trip to the zoo with the babies to find my Zen.

Looks like he was finding his Zen as well..lol

So what does this week look like? Well... I have four 4'x2' canvases burning gas...

and then I will paint at lest 20 new paintings for classes over the next few months.....then enter 5 more art shows...then getting ready for the fundraiser on the 30th...PLUS my normal classes that are always going.  I am LOVING life.

Horse Play!!

SOOO.... today  finally arrived...the day Caitlin has been waiting for since Christmas Day...Seriously LONG TIME to a ten year old.  Today we had our first horseback riding lesson together... WHOOHOOOOO!!!!

I had the best time ever taking this lesson with my daughter.  It was great mother daughter time....which is sometimes hard to come by.  On a funny note....my horse bit my foot and tried to pull it through the stirrup....then spooked 5 seconds into the ride...then shook his entire body as if to say he was done with me.  Caitlin thought all of this was super funny...and I LOVED every bit of it.  I CAN NOT wait to get to run him....maybe in a few weeks.  There is nothing like the feeling of being on a horse and having to tame your fears so you can enjoy something truly magical!!!  Might just have to paint me some horses!!

WE LOOOVE FIELD TRIPS!!!

Yup, that's right....we do field trips.  And let me tell you, there is nothing quite like a school bus pulling up with fourty kiddos who all secretly want to paint like the wind.  We had a ball!!!  St. James Catholic School from Liberty Mo came to play with us today...and boy did we fling some paint!!!

I can't say enough good things about this group of kiddos!!  Sooo well behaved and so fun to work with.  They made my day when they said this was THE BEST FIELD TRIP EVER!!!  I truely LOVE my JOB!!!

Are you bored?

I just had someone tell me they were bored......Really?...bored....I seriously can't remeber the last time I was bored.  Exhausted, strung, crazed, shocked, excited, hyper, .....these are all things that I get....never bored.  How does one get bored? LOL 

Here are some new shots of the gallery...The art is flying off the wall. Sending three more paintings to California today. WHOOOHOOO. Then I have to pay some bills, start a new series of paintings, get flyers done, paint some more, workout with Jamie ( ya cause she is a slave driver who is making me buy a scale today) paint some more, cook dinner for my kiddos, paint some more and oh ya, we have open studio tonight, so ya, more painting.

The painting arrived and it's GORGEOUS!!! I LOVE IT. I JUST received it and immediately unpacked it and hang it. It's so beautiful...it glows.

I love the little bits of turquoise in there too. So precious.

I wanted to also buy the "middle" painting that goes with this one (with a little gold in it) but I feared on this wall, they'd be too big to stack one above the other.

But if I only can have one, I'm so happy that I chose this and I really love it.
I'll definitely place another order with you....I'm thinking the hydrangea....not sure yet.

Are You Living YOUR Dream?

Well.......ARE...You?  Seriously,..... why is it that the one thing we want more than anything and the one thing we believe will bring us complete happiness is ALWAYS the ONE THING that scares us beyond our will to make it happen?  I am ready to hit the art circuit.  I am ready to be a bit more than a teacher and gallery owner.  I am ready to have to world see what I create with my brushes and my palette knives.  I have hired a photographer to get my work in a professional format, and next week I will force myself to HIT SEND and wooosh my heart and soul through cyber space into the hands of judges who don't know me from Adam.  I have faced WAAAAY scarier things than this simple task...CHILDBIRTH for one....yet I dont remember there being a time when being accepted was so important. 

Ahhhh, that is it.  LOL.  I am removing myself from my "DON"T GIVE A RIP WHAT ANYONE (except Mr.Larry) thinks of me....into the zone of a panel of judges deciding if the next leg of my journey is with them or not.....

Soooo, do I stay in the same bowl ...or take a change?

 I am gonna jump...teehee......and I will keep you posted all along the way.  :)


I finally got the calendar done for March... WHOOOOHOOOOO!!! You can view it larger on the Weekly Classes Tab right here on the blog from now on.  No more website chaos. 

   I have been working on an ocean wave painting for a lovely woman in Florida. The weather made the drying time beyond SLOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW......However, it is BEAUTIFUL!!! This one is painful to let go of. :) Here is the final pic of it.

I am going to paint an entire series of ocean waves.  Stay tuned for that!!!
This one is 4' x 2' and is full of texture. 
I hope you can hear the ocean and the wind just looking at it.
